We are supposed to be better off, have more choice then we ever did. So what happened to Spangles and Walnut Whips.....

OK, so if you still have some spangles on you, they are probably all the same colour by now - dark green and furry - but they were great!

When you ate a walnut whip, did you lick the centre out first, or nibble on your nut?

For those from other parts, we're talking candy here - historic memories from days gone by. A bit like Durley Halt! lol!

Walnut whips aren't around any more? Shocked

I thought they were, although a lot smaller than they used to be, like wagon wheels. Couple of mouthfuls and they're gone! Whats Durley Halt ?

It's a long defunct railway station at Durley, on the line from Botley to Bishops Waltham, which I believe closed in the 30s but which still hold a fascination for derek Rolling Eyes

"Opal Fruits" are back but then they never really went away...just renamed geek

I used to love opal fruits but after the first packet they laid very heavy on the stomach affraid
